MolMass is measured by utilizing the same technology and hardware as used for TrueFlow measurement based on speed of sound.

MolMass allows direct determination of gas concentrations under certain defined conditions. Some of the most popular applications are:
- Helium and CO determination in DLCO measurements by ndd
- N₂ determination in FRC measurement by ndd
- CO₂ measurement in the UPG application by ndd

MolMass is the second major step introduced by ndd further changing lung function testing drastically. MolMass will allow an expansion of parameters to be measured with the same ndd advantages:
- no contamination no cleaning
- no cross contamination
- no calibration
- no variables need to be input (temperature, humidity, pressure)

MolMass together with TrueFlow are applied in the EasyOne PRO series of instruments to be launched in 2006 for: determination of
- DLCO
- FRC
- other parameters

The EasyOne Pro series is a portable, maintenance free system that allows POCT, bedside and other ambulant applications; outside the confinement of the lung testing laboratories.
